Jordan School Construction and Rehabilitation Project
Improve access to schools that are safe, not overcrowded and supplied with effective teaching materials and equipment by constructing about 28 new schools and renovating/extending an additional 100 public schools all over Jordan.

ERfKE Support Project
Technical assistance, training and classroom renovation to improve early childhood and youth education in the public school system and complement the Government of Jordan’s Education Reform for the Knowledge Economy (ErfKE) initiative. Emphasis will be placed on the use of information and communications technology in training and service delivery. Grants are also provided to the Jordan Education Initiative, Save the Children’s “Najah” Project, and Hikayat Simsim. In addition, the Shorouk initiative of the project expands activities to Aqaba and the southern governorates.

Support for Jordan Education Initiative
Building the Institutional Capacity of the Jordan Education Initiative, which is based on private/public partnership, to develop the e-curriculum content and broadband IT infrastructure for up to 100 model “Discovery Schools” in Jordan and serve as driver for education reform.

Najah Project
Provide training, build strategic linkages, and implement community enterprise projects to help Jordanian youth access employment and excel in entrepreneurship.

Hikayat Simsim
Fund the production of an additional 26 television episodes of Hikayat Simsim, along with outreach materials to be distributed to over 25,000 children and 2,000 teachers and caregivers across Jordan.

Adolescent Knowledge and Development in Jordan (Phase II)
Improve the knowledge of adolescents on basic life skills and healthy life styles by strengthening the capacities of the service providers, creating a better learning and participatory environment, and supporting community participation.

E-Enabled Civic Education Activity
Provide the Ministry of Education the capacity to implement e-enabled Project Citizen curricula in all of the schools that are equipped with the required instructional technology.

Achieving E-Quality in the ICT Sector (Phase II)
Phase II of the program focuses on linking Cisco Networking Academy Program (CNAP) graduates to the ICT job market, and ensuring equal opportunities for women’s participation in this vital and dynamic sector. Also includes establishing an “e-village” initiative in two villages in Northern Jordan to improve the chance of graduates from the rural areas to be linked with the ICT job market.

Support to the Jordan Education Initiative for Gender Mainstreaming
Developing an innovative set of programs and activities aimed at introducing and promoting gender in the Discovery Schools that focuses on gender sensitizing the curriculum, and conducting gender training for administrators, teachers and students.
