| Children’s Drawing Contest on Legal Awareness
The Noor Al Hussein Foundation (NHF) was awarded a $25,000 grant from the USAID-funded MASAQ Rule of Law Project in May 2006. NHF used the grant to conduct civic education programs for both children and adults in rural areas, increasing their knowledge of the Jordanian legal system and the importance of women's participation in it. It also created and distributed the children's activity book Color With Us containing depictions of legal issues and the judicial system. |

Also as part of the grant, NHF held a youth drawing contest to teach students from rural areas about family violence, women's participation in the legal system, and the rights and duties of citizens under the law through art. Students, aged 15 to 18, from Al Hassa, Al Juffer, and Northern and Southern Azraq participated in the contest. |

At the close of its nine-month USAID-funded project, NHF brought the winners of its youth drawing contest to Amman to receive their awards from the Ministry of Justice's Secretary General, Mohammed Al Ghazo. Twenty-four students were rewarded with a public exhibition of their work. |
