How to Apply

There are several ways you can work for USAID/Jordan - please see the options below for further information on qualifications and application procedures for job opportunities at USAID:

Locally Employed Staff(LES): Many of the vacancies at USAID/Jordan are filled by Jordanian citizens recruited from within Jordan. Unless otherwise specified, local positions are reserved for Jordanian citizens. LES vacancies are advertised locally in national newspapers and on this site.

U.S. Personal Service Contractors (USPSC): USAID/Jordan sometimes recruits U.S. citizens for employment at the mission. Most of these vacancies are for overseas hires (U.S. citizens recruited from outside of Jordan). For information on overseas USPSC employment opportunities visit the FedBizOpps webpage. USAID/Jordan also recruits for a limited number of local-hire USPSC vacancies (positions to be filled by U.S. citizens currently resident in Jordan, including family members who are dependents of U.S. personnel employed with the U.S. government in Jordan). Local-hire USPSC vacancies are advertised within the Embassy community and on this site.

U.S. Foreign Service Employees (Direct Hires): The USAID/Jordan program is managed by a team of U.S. Direct Hires who are U.S. citizens hired by USAID to serve as Foreign Service officers in USAID missions overseas. U.S. citizens who are interested in general employment information with USAID, current vacancy postings or information on the USAID Fellows and Students Programs, please visit the USAID Employment webpage.

Internship Programs: USAID/Jordan does not have student internship programs in place.

Local Positions

All our positions are filled using a competitive, procurement hiring process. The process starts with announcing vacant positions in local newspapers, on the American Embassy in Amman Website (http://jordan.usembassy.gov), and here. If a position meets your qualifications, please submit the required documentation by the advertised deadline. Some of the local vacancies are restricted to Mission employees only and are thus not advertised. USAID/Jordan retains resumes of Jordanians only for six months from the date of submission. Should you choose to send in an unsolicited resume, USAID will not provide a response.

All applications should be either: 1) mailed to the USAID/Jordan Executive Office, to the attention of the Personnel Section (mailing address can be found at the Contact Us page); 2) hand delivered to the Main Gate of the U.S. Embassy in Abdoun; or 3) sent by e-mail to ammanHRUSAID@usaid.gov.

Local Positions: Please send a typed DS-174 Application Form for Locally Employed Staff OR a resume providing the same information requested on the DS-174 and clearly indicating the position for which you are applying.

Local USPSC Positions: Please send a typed OF-612 form along with the CV, clearly indicating the position for which you are applying.
